REMA 1000 Turns 25 Years In year 2019, we celebrated having supplied quality goods to the Danes at low prices for 25 years. Since the very first opening day, we have been running our business on the basis of strong values. – All our sustainable efforts aim at delivering on our promise ‘discount with an attitude’ and our targets supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals. We are still facing a great number of challenges on the road towards 2030, but through joint efforts, I am sure we will reach our goals. Henrik Burkal, CEO, REMA 1000 Danmark In April 1994, we opened the first two REMA 1000 stores in Skive. Today, our concept is simple. We want to make it easy, fast, and cheap to buy quality goods while taking responsibility for people, animals, climate and the environment. This is the concept behind ‘discount with an attitude”, on which all our sustainability initiatives are based. In 2019, the Danes made 15.5 % of their daily purchases in one of our 343 stores across the country. They furthermore ranked us, for the third year in a row, as the most popular brand in Denmark1, and we came in first, in a ranking on brands that the Danish consumers prefer and trust2. We are both proud of and humbled by the positive feedback from our customers. It encourages all our colleagues, suppliers and business partners to ensure that our values and believes meet the customers in our stores every single day. We use partnerships to create solutions Partnerships and communities stands at the heart of ‘discount with attitude’. We create communities in our stores, in the workplace and in the local societies surrounding our stores, where our local store owners provide increased proximity to customers and colleagues in the local community. With our sharing economy home delivery service, REMA 1000 with Vigo, where customers shop for each other, we wish to strengthen relations and sense of community in local societies. Together with our partners we seek shared solutions to the environmental and social challenges our sector is facing, as we stand stronger when we join forces and create new results. It is these solutions and results we present in this report. 1. YouGov (2020): “Danmarks bedst omtalte varemærker 2019” 2. Caliber (Q3 2019): “Mest populære virksomheder i Danmark”

INTRODUCTION CLIMATE AND ENVIRONMENT HEALTH The report present among other things, how we have spent 2019 on optimising the amount of plastic on selected products, which have resulted in an overall reduction of 51.6 tons plastic – as well as how we want to contribute to the health and wellbeing of the Danish population through our engagement in the new Innovation Partnership. The report also states why we have trained all our store owners and their deputy heads in value-driven management, and why we support a new camp-concept, S-CAMP, which have a special focus on giving children and young people more confidence, increased self-esteem, better health and strength. All these efforts are part of our promise to deliver ‘discount with an attitude’ and meet our targets that support the fulfilment of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We are still facing a great number of challenges on the road towards 2030, but through joint efforts, I am confident we will reach our goals. I would like to thank all customers, store owners, colleagues, suppliers, and partners for a good 2019. I look forward to continuing our work for joint solutions in the coming years. 1000 REMA regards One of the first REMA 1000 stores in Skive, 1994 COLLEAGUES RESPONSIBLE TRADE APPENDICES Henrik Burkal CEO REMA 1000 Denmark REMA 1000 CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY 2019 2
