Replaceable/non-replaceable installations In the Danish Water Standards, there is a distinction between replaceable and non-replaceable installations. Replaceable installations can be designed as a visible installation mounted with bearings or as a hidden installation, where the installation is hidden behind a sheath, pipe tray, or as a pipe in a pipe. Replaceable installations must always be repaired and maintained. Examples of used pipe materials for water pipes. Pay attention to the various materials’ suitability and the local water quality. Non- replaceable installations must have a service life corresponding to the building component. Operating and maintenance instructions Regardless of whether the installation is replaceable or non-replaceable, according to the Danish Building Regulations and Danish Water Standards, there must exist adequate operating and maintenance instructions. It is the duty of the contractor to prepare operating and maintenance instructions, and to instruct the user of the facility in these. The operating instructions must contain both general information about the facilities and more specific information about operating and maintenance, including instructions on operating temperatures to prevent the occurrence of bacteria, as well as information about any contact persons and service companies. The maintenance instructions for large domestic water systems should contain guidelines for the discharge of hot water containers, inspection and cleaning of heating surfaces, surface treatment inspection, and service and maintenance of any water treatment plants.
