Accelerating our contribution to a healthier and more sustainable future Sustainability is everyone’s business, and it has always been at the heart of what Vikan does. While we contribute to cleaner and safer food production and other hygiene sensitive environ- ments through our products and services, we also minimise our environmental footprint by using renewable energy and recycled and renewable material wherever possible. We care about our people and sustain the highest health, safety, and business practice standards. Sustainability plays a key role in our strategy; it is embedded in our daily operations. Doing business in a sustainable manner is not an option, it is a license to operate - a must. To facilitate continuous progress on sustainable initiatives, The Vikan Green Team has ownership of and is accountable for executing on the Vikan Sustainability Roadmap. This cross-functional team is responsible for getting insights from customers, collecting ideas from the organisation, and implementing sustainability initiatives across the organisation. We encourage you to have a look at the 2022 Sustainability Progress Report to learn about Vikan’s 2022 outcomes as well as our 2023 commitments. As stated in our 2021 annual report, we enlisted external support and emphasised our efforts on measurable sustainable initiatives. As a result, we committed ourselves to four specific focus areas in 2022 where we believed we could make a difference in the coming years: • Customer Health & Safety: We committed to providing the right tools and expertise to help increase food safety in production environments. • Occupational Health & Safety: We committed to main- taining the highest level of safety, being transparent, and reporting on our performance. • Material: We committed to using recycled and renewable material to the largest extent when technically feasible. • Energy & Emission: We committed to getting a full over- view on scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions and deliver year-on- year improvements. Together - let’s accelerate our contribution to a healthier and more sustainable future. Lars Aaen, Group Supply Chain Director 2
