4 1000th micro-credential student at Trinity Earlier this year Trinity celebrated a life-long learning milestone as 1,000 learners – who are mainly full-time employees whose ages range from 21 to 67 – have now completed a micro-credentials course at the university. Launched in the 2021/2022 academic year, micro-credentials are small, focused courses, lasting six to 12 weeks, allowing for in-depth learning in a specific area or topic at postgraduate level. Each micro-credential o ers a career and knowledge growth opportunity and a direct impact in the workplace. While they are standalone o erings, there will be opportunities in the future to stack them towards specified Trinity awards. Trinity currently o ers 37 di erent micro-credentials, with a new one in Perinatal Mental Health due to start in January 2026. Areas of study include Nursing and Midwifery, Business, Engineering, Social Work and Social Policy, Medicine, Psychology, Natural Science and Trinity Innovation. Phone campaign raises over €180,000 for student services The Trinity Telephone Campaign returned this spring, with 30 students from all disciplines speaking to over 800 alumni, both in Ireland and across the globe. One of the callers described their call as ‘highly enjoyable – I loved finding out more about Trinity and contributing to the college community.’ Alumni took the opportunity to reveal campus secrets as well as imparting life and career advice to the callers. Many also kindly donated to the Trinity Alumni Fund, raising over €180,000 for much needed student services. The student callers had the opportunity to share how their lives had been positively impacted by donations to the Trinity Alumni Fund. From receiving support to take up their place in Trinity, to ongoing support to allow them reach their full potential, they know that gi s to the Trinity Alumni Fund are transformational. Our thanks to everyone who answered the phone, shared their experiences, and donated to support the students that are following in their footsteps. ‘Women in Sport’ wins international gender equality award Trinity’s ‘Women in Sport’ campaign has won the Project Award at the 9th FISU Gender Equality Awards. The Fédération Internationale du Sport Universitaire Gender Equality Project award recognises outstanding projects that contribute to fostering gender equality and creating more inclusive environments within university sports worldwide. ‘This is an incredible recognition of the work we have done, aligning with the five pillars of Sport Ireland’s campaign,’ said Niamh Digby Bratton, Club Operations & Development Manager, Trinity Sport. ‘We now have a female chairperson elected by our students for the first time ever and this is really encouraging too.’
