My Trinity, my life Trinity Today gets the elevator pitch on the life of Alice Delahunt, CEO & Founder of SYKY, the decentralised brand that’s changing the face of fashion, worldwide Q Y our best memories of Trinity? Q & A ALICE DELAHUNT I loved every single Trinity Ball. The performances, the friends, the culture – it was phenomenal to see everybody in one place, celebrating and being merry. These are memories that I will cherish forever, and I highly recommend that every student takes advantage of these moments during their time at Trinity. There’s nothing like them at any other university in the world. Q What inspires you? I am most inspired when I manage to get home to County Wicklow to spend time with my friends and family. Walking on the beach, just being in nature at the Irish seaside – this is when I can truly unplug and reconnect with myself. Q What do you find challenging? The relentlessness that comes with being the founder of a company is one of the most challenging experiences of my career thus far. To hold up the weight of the company and show up for your customers, your community, and your investors requires resilience, tenacity, and perseverance. I want to build the best company and culture that I possibly can – one where my employees feel proud and know they are making a real difference in the world. Q What path did you follow at Trinity ? I am immensely proud to be a Trinity graduate. The education I received not only shaped the direction of my career but has also continued to make a monumental impact. Although I initially aimed for Law, taking advantage of Trinity’s diversity of programmes enabled me to discover my passion for marketing, new product development, and politics, ultimately guiding me to a career in advertising. Yet, a part of me still yearned to innovate in product development, merging my love for art, fashion, and technology in the company I have now founded. I am grateful that I found those first few steps toward my path at Trinity.
