Success at the Irish Law Awards 2021 Congratulations to Trinity alumna Sharon McElligott who has been named as ‘Leinster Incl Dublin Sole Principal of the Year’ at the Irish Law Awards 2021. We are looking forward to seeing what’s next for Sharon and her firm Murphy McElligott Solicitors. The Old Library Redevelopment Project is a landmark conservation project that will safeguard the Old Library building and conserve its precious collections for future generations. Made possible by generous government and private funding, along with core funding from different Trinity initiatives, it will allow for urgent structural and environmental upgrades and the redevelopment of facilities in line with the best library and museum experiences around the world. To make this essential conservation work possible, the current Book of Kells and Long Room exhibition will need to close for a period of three years from 2023, and a temporary interim exhibition will need to be created. This temporary interim exhibition is key to financing the Old Library Redevelopment Project. No decision has yet been made on a location for this temporary exhibition. A number of locations are being considered and a feasibility study is currently taking place on the pros and cons of the various locations for the temporary exhibition, as well as extensive engagement with groups across college, including Trinity Sport and DUCAC among others. A final decision will be made by the College Board in early 2022 when the feasibility study is complete and further engagement has taken place. We will continue to keep you updated with information about the temporary exhibition and the Old Library Redevelopment Project in the months ahead.
