Join the Inspiring Reads Trinity Book Club today and begin reading and growing with almost 700 other Trinity alumni who have already joined the book club! The latest book cycle began on January 7, making this the perfect time to sign up and get involved. January’s book of choice is The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett. There are few better distractions on a rainy day than a good book and stimulating discussion. Throughout the ongoing lockdowns it can be difficult to find opportunities to connect with others, especially during the winter months. As such, we hope this book club will brighten your week with the right mix of learning and community. The Inspiring Reads book club provides discussion on topics, open forums and book selections chosen by members every two months. You will receive emails on different themes and areas of focus within the text, as well as access to the book club forums where you can share your thoughts and opinions with other book club members, and gain access to further reading resources and insights. When asked why they joined the book club, this is what our members had to say: I love to read so I’m looking forward to interesting suggestions that take me out of my comfort zone and the opportunity to discuss them with likeminded folk. I’m hoping this will encourage me to make more time to read. I highly enjoy picking up a new book but I often don’t prioritize it. Plus I’m looking forward to connecting with other readers and discussing each book. I’ve been reading a lot more during the pandemic and at the same time missing the community of family and friends that I used to enjoy. Grateful to have the internet as a tool to connect and this seems like a fun way to combine community and literature.
