Our Educational Outreach Programmes Trinity Access is linked with 19 primary and 20 secondary DEIS schools in the greater Dublin area. In partnership with our committed teachers, our outreach programmes provide students with the opportunity to see themselves in third level education by equipping them with the essential knowledge and skills they need to progress on their educational journeys. Through our work with our linked schools, we support students to explore their interests, and to imagine life as a college student. This year we were delighted to celebrate the boundless creativity of our primary schools through our annual Bookmarks Programme, and their courage and determination were recognised at our Education Achievement Awards Ceremony. Dreams take Shape in Secondary School We engage with students across the full scope of their six years in secondary school. Because we support our linked schools to create a college-going culture, students can access a dedicated space to raise their aspirations for their futures, and the support to make their dreams a reality. Events: The aim of our outreach work is to plant the seeds that will result in students achieving their full potential. Sometimes, even a single workshop can create a shift in a student’s mindset that can inspire them to become a doctor, as seen during our annual Med Day Workshop. With events being held online, the walls of Trinity’s campus expanded to encompass bedrooms and classrooms across Dublin. Students embraced their new online environments and the learning opportunities they offered. For TY students on our programmes, this included a virtual interrailing week and learning how to spot fake news, skills that will surely stand to them when they enter University! Through these programmes, students delve further into areas that spark their passions and inspire future career aspirations. By engaging with volunteers across multiple sectors, including current college students, PhD tutors, and leading figures in the corporate world, students can picture the full journey ahead of them. This culminates in a strong cohort of young adults who fight to break down any barriers in their way to realise their full potential. Click here to read more about these programmes
