Inspiring Generations Inspiring Generations The Campaign for Trinity College Dublin As Ireland’s leading university, Trinity plays a decisive role in educating young people, advancing global research and driving economic growth in Ireland. The work that Trinity does is vital and multifaceted. That’s why we’re inviting our global community of alumni and friends to join us in delivering our mission by supporting our philanthropic campaign, Inspiring Generations. Trinity is at once a heritage university with an historic campus and unique manuscript collections, and a cutting-edge innovation university which constantly drives new ways of thinking and doing. This duality is reflected across our Inspiring projects from redeveloping and safeguarding the Old Library and its treasures to building E3, a world-first Engineering, Environment and Emerging Technologies Institute to develop sustainable solutions for a liveable planet. Talent is the lifeblood of a university so all the campaign projects are underpinned by our ‘New Generations’ programme to fund more academic posts and to support more talented students from all backgrounds to come to Trinity. At this time of global pandemic and crisis when people are turning to universities for reassurance and guidance, Trinity’s role is more important than ever. We have a responsibility to demonstrate leadership, drive research, and provide inspiration to the rising generations, who rely more than ever on an excellent education for their start in life. Thanks to your support for Inspiring Generations, we’re meeting our responsibilities. Whether through a financial gift or giving of your time and expertise, you play an essential part in delivering this Campaign. My sincerest thanks to all, particularly to the members of the Provost’s Council, without whom the campaign would simply not be possible. I look forward to continuing to work together to deliver Inspiring Generations – thereby delivering for Trinity and Ireland. Dr Patrick Prendergast Provost and President of Trinity College Dublin 1
