Director’s Report In the year ending September 2019, Trinity took a major step with the public launch of Inspiring Generations – the first comprehensive philanthropic campaign in Trinity’s history. On behalf of everyone in Trinity, I want to thank each of you who supported the University in 2018-19. Inspiring Generations is a wonderful expression of the steadfast commitment of our donors and volunteers whose enthusiastic response is helping Trinity continue to inspire new generations of students and researchers to explore, excel and make discoveries that change the world. In 2018-19 thanks to the support of alumni, friends, the TCD Association and Trust, the University of Dublin Fund and the UK Trust for TCD, Trinity’s philanthropic income reached €27.4m. Trinity Development & Alumni is committed to maintaining the highest standards of governance and transparency. We have adopted the best codes of practice in the Irish charity sector and we are fully compliant with the Charities Governance Code. Of the €27.4m philanthropic income reported, Trinity Development & Alumni received €17.7m; €9.7m in gifts and gifts in kind were received directly by the University.
