Isaiah Walston Head of Sustainability, Tate Americas Professional Overview Isaiah is the Head of Sustainability for the Americas at Tate Access Floors, where he leads sustainability strategy, environmental transparency, and product alignment in support of global climate goals. With a career spanning commercial construction, project management, and sustainable manufacturing, Isaiah brings a practical, data-driven perspective to reducing environmental impact in the built environment—particularly at the product and material level. He has helped certify more than 30 million square feet of commercial space and has guided organizations through sustainability baselining, goal setting, and alignment with science-based targets and global frameworks such as the UN Global Compact. Isaiah began his career in commercial construction and project management, working closely with general contractors and design teams. Early in his career, while working with Carrier Corporation, he was involved at the outset of the U.S. Green Building Council, gaining first-hand experience with the formation of LEED at a time when sustainability was not yet a standard industry practice. As sustainability gained traction in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Isaiah focused on integrating environmental performance into construction delivery. Over time, he recognized that many of the most meaningful sustainability decisions are made upstream—at the manufacturing and materials level. This led him to transition into manufacturing, where he could directly influence material transparency, embodied carbon reduction, and third-party verification.
