“ CAMPING WITH KIDS IS SUPER EASY. THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING TO DO TOGETHER AS A FAMILY. Camping allows kids the freedom to discover nature S o much research has been carried out in recent years about the benefits of that close-to-nature lifestyle that campers enjoy. Physical and mental wellbeing is proven. And you cannot deny the pleasure that spending quality time with your loved ones brings. It is also an ideal opportunity to increase a child’s fitness, allowing them to run off steam in an environment where they can do little harm. It encourages exploration and making friends with other children on the campsite. It offers the chance to look after and use their own camping kit and provides a playful environment in which to help parents with chores. Such self- reliance is just one of the many life skills that camping develops. It is why the Hennig family chose to take up camping this year. Dad, Francis, was certainly keen to encourage a new perspective to their already active lifestyle close to nature. And mum, Heidi, loved the idea of decking out their tent with flowers, lights and blankets for that true glamping experience. It’s the perfect way to create a happy atmosphere in their country home. And their hopes were fulfilled for, after two camping trips, their boys Oskar (5) and Frido (2) are already in love with life in a tent. Plenty of space to play inside and out, with luxury furniture to collapse into when energy levels run dry. As for the excitement of not knowing what the next day will bring or what adventure lies around the corner… In fact, there is rarely, if ever, a dull moment. Parents should never be stuck for things to do when camping. Trips away, ball games, walks, bike rides, treasure maps to draw, and more. Plus, the prospect of a hearty meal outdoors with a campfire for toasted marshmallows. As Francis says: ”Camping with kids is super easy. Always things to do together as a family. We enjoyed every moment and cannot wait to go again!” ”Our Outwell Colorado 6PE provided a light, spacious room for kids to play and for adults to kick back and relax. It really has the perfect bright, cheerful internal ambience needed for family camping. Plus, it has a useful porch for cooking under – it’s our ideal home from home.” CAMP MAGAZINE 2022 7
