Business approval for the plumbing and energy programme Please pay attention to the following • The company must offer tasks that match the specialisations. • The company must have employed at least one skilled plumber. To be approved to the following specialisations, the company must have a valid plumbing authorisation: • Plumbing energy specialist. • Plumbing installation technician. • Sheet metal worker and plumber. For the specialisation of sheet metal worker and plumber, the company can be approved without having an authorisation. For such companies to be certified, the apprentice must be seconded to another certified company or a vocational school for the approx. 20 weeks, the plumbing part takes. To obtain certification to train apprentices for the specialisation of sheet metal worker and plumber, the host company must have access to a workshop. For the specialisation ventilation technician, the company can be approved without having an authorisation. The approval applies to the specific workplace (P-number). About the plumbing energy education The plumbing energy education was updated in August 2020 so that the professional and technical skills match the latest technological developments and the companies' need for skills. As an example, there are now better opportunities to obtain certificates, and the specialisations (except sheet metal worker and plumber) now have two compulsory certificates. Plumbing installation technician The plumbing technician works with building installations and plays a crucial role when buildings are built or renovated. The plumbing technician installs, adjusts and services small and large heating installations as well as all kinds of sanitary installations, and can perform adjustment and service of intelligent sanitary installations, e.g. intelligent toilets, fittings, etc. The plumbing installation technician guides the customer on operation, maintenance, and optimisation of installations. Plumbing energy specialist – option for EUX The plumbing energy specialist can carry out general building installations and analyse the necessary energy consumption for water and heat, advise on efficiency improvements and put together and install complete energy- saving improvement solutions. The plumbing energy specialist installs, regulates and services small and large heating installations, including district heating, gas, heat pump and renewable energy installations, and can carry out programming and function checks of automatic control systems for heating and energy systems. The plumbing energy specialist guides the customer on operation, maintenance, and optimisation of installations, including energy consumption and environmental conditions. The training for plumbing energy specialist can also be taken as an EUX programme. 1
