A proud tradition of craftmanship Sika-Design is a Danish family company established in 1942. With a passion for rattan and great craftmanship, we manufacture timeless furniture in both our own designs, and in designs by some of the world’s greatest designers and architects. We are proud to call us the oldest manufacturer of rattan and wicker furniture in Scandinavia. Our history began with rattan but for almost 20 years we have also been manufacturing outdoor wicker furniture based on the same great craftmanship. Creating long lasting furniture With 3 rd generation Louise Andreasen in charge, our mission is to make long lasting furniture. These should be created with the least possible impact on the environment which places great demands to the longevity of our designs, the way we produce, and the materials we use. Our Exterior furniture is made of aluminum and ArtFibre. The aluminum is partly recycled, and selected items are made using recycled ArtFibre. In our production there is minimum waste as ArtFibre residues can go back into the production and all aluminum scraps are collected and recycled. We believe in the importance of using recyclable materials and the importance of using them in a way that enables further recyclability in the future. Therefore, our Exterior furniture can be taken apart after end use and sorted into clean, recyclable materials. Social & environmental responsibilities Taking environmental and social responsibilities are ongoing processes that we have been working systematically with since 2013. Together with our sister company, we were the first furniture companies in Denmark to be certified with an ISO14001:2015 and SA8000 (now replaced by SMETA by DNV). Through our certifications, we have committed ourselves to a responsible social - and environmental policy as well as an ongoing focus on developing and improving these conditions.
