STEP 1: FRONT • Cast on 130 st in cobalt blue (124, 136). Work 12 rows/4 cm with stitch pattern I. These rows don‘t count for the length of the following work. • Change colour to white and switch to stitch pattern III. At the end of the row cast on 2 st. Repeat 3 times. • Work with 136 st (130, 142) until row 100/36 cm (row 95/34 cm, row 105/38 cm). • Change colour to cobalt blue. Continue in stockinette (stitch pattern III) for another 65 rows/26 cm until row 165/62 cm (row 160/60 cm, row 170/64 cm). Begin with collar: • Work the row until stitch 60 (58, 62), bind off 16 (14, 18) stitches and finish the row with 60 stitches on a second set of needles. • Work the two sides separately. Start with the side on the second set of needles. Side A (on the second set of needles) & side B (first set of needles): • When reaching the collar in the next row, bind off 3 stitches. • In the next 6 rows bind off 2 stitches each at the collar side of your work until you have 45 stitches in a row. • Finish another 7 rows without decreasing any stitches. In the end you should have done 14 rows (7 in which you should have decreased the number of stitches at the collar and 7 without) and a total of 45 stitches/ 18 cm (43, 47). Bind off all stitches. STEP 3: SLEEVES • Cast on 56 st in cobalt blue (52, 60). Work 16 rows/6 cm with stitch pattern I, then change colour to white and switch to the Stockinette stitch pattern (stitch pattern IV). Work 8 rows. • Cast on 2 stitches at the ends of the next 5 rows. This makes a total of 66 (62,70) stitches. • Work another 14 rows/5 cm without increasing the number of stitches. • Cast on 2 stitches at the ends of the next 5 rows. This makes a total of 76 (72,80) stitches. • In every 10th row cast on one stitch at the beginning and one at the end of the row until you reached 88 stitches/46 cm (84, 92). • In the 132nd row (127, 137) – not counting the cuff rows – bind off all 88 (84, 92) stitches. The sleeves should be 54 cm long including the cuff. STEP 2: BACK • Cast on 130 st in cobalt blue (124, 136). Work 12 rows/4 cm with stitch pattern I. These rows don‘t count for the length of the following work. • Change colour to white and switch to stitch pattern II. At the end of the row cast on 2 st. Repeat 3 times. • Work with 136 st (130, 142) until row 100/36 cm (row 95/34 cm, row 105/38 cm) and change colour to cobalt blue. Continue in stockinette (stitch pattern II) for another 72 rows/30 cm until row 172/66 cm (row 167/64 cm, row 177/68 cm). Begin with collar: • Work the row until stitch 51 (49, 53), bind off 34 (32, 36) stitches. Finish the row with 51 (49, 53) stitches on a second set of needles. • Work the two sides separately. Start with the side on the second set of needles. Side A (on the second set of needles) & side B (first set of needles): • In the next 3 rows bind off 2 stitches each at the collar until you have 45 stitches in a row. • Finish one more row without decreasing any stitches. In the end you should have done 7 rows (6 in which you should have decreased the number of stitches at the collar and one without decreasing) and reached a total of 45 stitches/18 cm (43, 47). Bind off all stitches. STEP 4: FINISH • Steam all parts to bring them to form. Sew the parts together using the backstitch. • For the collar use a small circular knitting needle. Cast on 52 stitches for the front part of the collar and 50 for the back part of the collar. Work 8 rows/4 cm using stitch pattern I. Bind off all stitches. • Sew in all loose thread ends.
