Cyber security is considered the a bsolute largest security challenge amongst both private companies and public authorities. R esponsibility for national cyber security is h owever d ivided between companies, civil society o rganizations and g overnments, and there is hence a great deal of confusion as to who should do what and when. This p aper outlines the c urrent challenges to Western companies and provides recommendations for how companies can best address future cyber threats. 2 RE C O M M E N D ATI O N S • Create a space for prioritization and strategic thinking in relation to cyber threats. • Be active in public debates on cyber security management and legislation, and start to develop common business standards and norms in this area. • Focus on organizational learning and training to ensure dialogue and constructive “translation” between the strategic and the technical levels.
